Whose rights, exactly?

“Conservatives are trying to control you,” the liberals say. Conservatives are such fearful control freaks, in fact, that they’d be willing to strip you of your “earth-given right” (?) to have your own moral code and live as you please, free from the terrors of moral uniformity. Fortunately, anyone with a brain could analyze your rights and acknowledge that leftists aren’t just engaging in the bigotry they claim to despise, but they’ve already out-performed their conservative counterparts. For instance, in our current day and age, according to both the existing laws and the laws which are currently being made (make sure to read these links):
1) Making a movie in which rape/murder are viewed favorably: CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT
2) Having unlimited children with unlimited women without ever getting married: [1] CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT(1)
3) Going on a spending spree with credit cards, not paying your rent, and then staying in your home at the expense of the landlord: [2] CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT(2)
4) Hopping a border and demanding in-state tuition from the people whose border you trampled: [3] CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT(3)
5) Starting an organization like NAMBLA, for the purpose of molesting little boys: [4] CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT(4)
6) Advertising for a Christian roommate: [5] NOT A RIGHT(5)
7) Making your dating site only for straight people if you think that committing homosexual acts is immoral: [6] NOT A RIGHT(6)[7]
8) Shooting someone who mugs you, even though the police are [8] not constitutionally required to protect you: [9] NOT A RIGHT (in many states)(7)(8)
9) Refusing to legally acknowledge a sexual relationship you find morally offensive or promote an employee that engages in acts that are morally offensive: [10] NOT A RIGHT (in 20 states)(9)
10) Refusing to perform an abortion if you’re a Christian doctor: [11] SOON TO NOT BE A RIGHT(10)
11) Maintaining the religious culture of your neighborhood: [12] NOT A RIGHT(5)
So in short, if you want to teach people how to rape little boys, The Left will give you a go-ahead through the first amendment. If you’re advertising for a Christian roommate, you’re going to be sued and/or thrown in jail in spite of the first amendment. It would seem to anyone with a brain that the Left is concerned with promoting and allowing every kind of abominable act out of a thirteen-year-old’s “you can’t tell me what to do” attitude, while at the same time not only restricting anyone who would oppose acts they find to be immoral, but restricting the even the organization of those who would like to separate themselves from an evil society.
Then liberals call themselves champions of freedom, and nobody questions whether or not someone’s rights are taken away every time you grant someone else a [13] claim right to engage in evil (12). Like maybe the rights of a landlord who can’t make his mortgage payments, the religious rights of a person who doesn’t want to promote homosexuality, or even the rights of a person who would defend young boys from molestation.
But aside from restricting the ability to take stands against the immoral behavior of others, isn’t forcing someone to engage in a behavior they find deeply reprehensible just a little bit totalitarian? In the case of the dating service mentioned above, E Harmony—owned and operated by Christians—was forced to facilitate sexual intercourse between men. In the case of the doctors refusing to perform abortions mentioned above, Obama is going to repeal the conscience clause and force many doctors to engage in unwarranted execution.
Why would anyone force another person to do or support something they found morally offensive? Does anyone have the right to enslave someone for the purpose of someone else? And furthermore, on an even more obvious level, why is advertising for a Christian roommate not protected by the first amendment?
The answer: because Leftists aren’t concerned with living in a free state, and they never have been. They are concerned with living in a leftist state. Evil—which is what the United States of America continues to engage in—is almost always disguised as good (in this case disguised as “freedom”), no matter who or where it comes from. The appeal to liberty, tolerance, and civil rights is nothing more than a repackaging of old, morally bankrupt ideas that would have appeared reprehensible if only they’d been explained a different way. Need I remind the reader, the only way that any democracy can progress from good and free to evil and enslaved is if the people are convinced that they’re doing the right thing to get there, which they always eventually do. And even if someone were to argue that Leftist morality was good morality, then why do the cities in which people overwhelming vote for liberal causes have the [14] worst problems with crime (especially murder and rape)(11)?
So the next time someone calls a conservative a fascist, ask them if they know what fascism is (I’m willing to bet they won’t answer “a distinctly European, inter-war, anti-communist phenomenon”). When they give you a ridiculously ignorant answer, ask them if the Left does not engage in the same totalitarian practices they claim to despise, and list the “rights” mentioned above. In the end, even if you can’t persuade them, you can show the others around them that the thinly veiled guise of tolerance is really just bigoted immorality with a different name. Until the day that people will call it what it is, you can rest assured that Americans will continue to be the same kind of people they have been: a country of ignorant suckers.
